Since becoming a mostly stay at home mom I have really found that it is necessary for me to plan my week ahead. Sunday afternoons or evenings are when I sit down to do this. The goal setting has become quite a good thing for me. I love being able to stay at home with Addy but I quickly realized that the days were running together and it was easy for me feel like I had accomplished nothing even though I know in my head that just keeping her fed and entertained is an accomplishment in and of itself.
My calendar starts like this:
And ends up looking like a zoo:
Thankfully not everything written down is appointments!
I also write down and plan my:
-Meals
-Exercise times
-Chores
-Projects
My goals list is on the left of each week and usually conist of physical, spiritual, mental, and relational goals. For instance this week on my goals list is:
1. Lose 2 lbs.
2. Exercise 3 times
3. Call 2 friends
4. Organize my bathroom drawer (it's an absolute disaster)
5. Start my new devotional book
6. Read 3 chapters in Dave Ramsey's EntreLeadership
I don't always meet ALL my goals, but overall I feel so great just HAVING goals and making steps towards them even if they are not met everytime. I definately would recommend this goal setting power 1/2 hour each week for those of you who feel overwhelmed. Jon just recently started joining me and doing his goal setting for work as well and he says it's definately helped his time management at work.
Would love to hear some of your goals or time management tips!!

Wow, I just downloaded EntreLeadership and have been reading it. Boy, it sure has greased up my thinking gears. Another thing that I did was make up a diagram of "ME". Consist of Body, Mind and Spirit. My goal is to balance out the "3 parts" of me. Now if I could get my spirit as fat as my body and head that would be awesome.
I really like this idea, Cassie! Since switching to a part time work schedule, I feel even more busy (and jumbled) than before...I can relate!
Yes goal setting at least helps me get some things accomplished. we'll see how my results are at the end of the week. i didn't take into account Jon being gone so the reading may not happen since after only one day home alone I am fried by baby's bedtime :) Also marni - if you are coming to the youth leaders meeting this next week i'm making more of those cake batter truffle for dessert :)
