This morning during his run I first and foremost did my work tasks for the day. My actual WORK, work tasks, not my home work tasks. I then sat down and started brainstorming Miss Addy's 1st birthday. I know, I know, I only have 6 months left, I better get on it!
Pinterest starting my wheels turning, and then I saw the CUTEST owl boxes that someone had pinned and thought... look Whooo's turning 1!!!!! Oh my word, best idea ever, then I realized there probably are a million people who had that idea and so then the google search began for "Owl birthday party." Of course it's been done several times before, but in my mind I had the idea on my own because I hadn't seen it anywhere before it hit me. So it IS original to me.
Here are the boxes that inspired my idea. Not sure what I would do with them especially since I have several favor ideas and none of them will fit in this box, but I'm sure I'll figure it out!
For those who have not started 'pinning' on Pinterest yet, I recommend that you do not do it if you already have struggles with spending too much time on the intenet. On the other hand I have found it quite helpful to have all my "internet finds" in one location so I don't have to re-find them everytime I need it!
Basically Pinterest is an online version of my "idea book." You know the binder in my closet with plastic page sleeves that I shove ripped pages out of magazines into. When you see something online you simply "pin it" into one of your "boards" My board categories are as follows:
-recipes
-For the Home
-Addy's Bday
-Style - this contains a haircut photo, if I ever choose to care about clothing style I would also put those type of ideas in there)
-DIY - craft projects,etc
-Organization
-Fall
-Christmas
-Gifts
You can make your boards for whatever you want. I've had teacher friends have their Boards divided into Class subjects or themes so they can pin those idea. You get the point.
Oddly Pinterest is something you have to be invited to join - probably to create some hype - but if you need an invite just ask a friend to invite you that has pinterest or you can request an invite from pinterest itself.

I have an owl cricut cartridge and can make a really cute birthday banner with owls for you if you are interested. =) We can work out a price (I was thinking around $15... most of the ones I saw on etsy are around $30) If not, no worries! Just thought I would throw that out there!
